Sustainability analysis through emergy-based evaluation indicators
Sustainability indicators are calculated in order to conduct the evaluation of a breakwater useful life, based on previous emergy and CO2 emissions analysis. Emergy-based indicators such as the emergy sustainable index (ESI) will be applied, following previous experiences in other fields (Odum, 1996; Brown and Ugalti, 2002). From those indicators, the economic and environmental goods involved in the project can be balanced with the yield obtained. In addition, a new sustainability index will be proposed, based on the previous work of the research team (Molina-Salas et al, 2023a, Molina-Salas et al, 2023b).
