Greenhouse gasses emission assessment
An account of greenhouse emissions is necessary to a subsequent sustainability analysis.
Environmental emissions, especially greenhouse gasses, are undesirable outputs of any
engineering project, particularly in breakwater projects. A process-based life cycle assessment is proposed to conduct the emission analysis, based on an inventory of all the input energy and material flows involved in the construction and operation stages. The greenhouse emissions to be considered will be measured in CO2 equivalent units ([g] and [g/kWh]).
